Another Weekend Bites The Dust…

And so another weekend has come to an end. I can honestly say that it was a good one. I managed to get most of what I wanted to do done. And had fun doing it.

Friday I cooked and baked until I couldnt bear the sight of another apple or tomato or peach. As a result of my efforts over the last couple of weeks I now have four apple pies, two peach pies, four apple crumbles, one peach cobbler and 6 meals worth of spaghetti sauce stowed away in my freezer.

Saturday was up early to take the girls to see a movie. Our local theatres were holding a charity event where the movies were free and the concessions were at a reduced price but the proceeds from the sale of concessions went directly to Starlight Children’s Fund. We saw Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’hoole in 3D. Was a great morning just us ladies. Only wish there were more such movie days. Went out with the hubby to the mall while the kids were at church and managed to pick up some of the things that I needed for the kids costumes there. Then did the groceries on the way home from church after mass. Then off to the local fabric store yesterday in the early afternoon to get the rest of what I needed to make the robes.

We spent the rest of the afternoon Geocaching for the rest of the afternoon. We covered more ground than we would have had we not had the car. It would have been simply impossible for us to have done what we did without it. Not to mention it became considerably warmer than the day had started out. In the end most of us had to stow a layer or two in the van part of the way through our hike. Then it was back home after a few maintence calls for our own caches. Got the girls robes cut and put together. One scarf is about half way done.

Thus ends another weekend. And for the record it has also been one week smoke free. I do have an electronic cigarette which amounts to a fancy nicotine inhaler for the time being but it is helping me to get through the cravings so far. Heres hoping I can see two weeks! Ah well one day at a time!
