Blogging From A to Z — ‘Adventure’

April 1, 2013

a-to-z-letters-a

Adventure. Thats my A word today.

Definition: “An adventure is an exciting or unusual experience; it may also be a bold, usually risky undertaking, with an uncertain outcome.”

To me every day is an adventure. There is so many things to see and do. So many places to explore. People to meet. In my world there is never a dull moment. Some of my more awesome-regular-basis adventures can be found doing one of the following things;

Geocaching:  Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location. (www.geocaching.com)

NANOWRIMO: Write a 50,000+ word novel in 30 days or less. (www.nanowrimo.org)

Ontario Parks: Some amazing camp sites have been our home away from home over the years (www.ontarioparks.com)

Not to mention all the amazing awesome restaurants and stores here in TDot that we never fail to try, see and visit. You really dont have to go far to find an adventure.

What sorts of ‘adventures’ do you go on?

      That is a great adventure! I sincerely wish I had the time to do so at this stage in my life but I dont at this point! So hats off to you! 🙂
      You will have to stop by every now and again to let me know how things are going on your adventure! 🙂

    I have some cousins who first told me about geocaching a few months ago. It sounds really cool – I think I will have to jump on the bandwagon one day!

    I love a good old travel adventure, especially going to a new place with no idea of what to expect and finding the hidden beauty.

      We don’t always have time to but its become our “filler” hobby. When we need something to do between other things or when we have a day where we don’t feel like doing anything but going for a walk this is what we end up doing and its great! 🙂

    Hi Allison. Boy oh boy, I’ve done the Nano adventure. I’ve no tried geo-caching. We have a new puppy, so my adventures have been rather controlled lately. As soon as he’s big enough, and the weather warms, we’ll be on our way to adventures in a row. 🙂

      YES! Dogs are awesome cover for geocaching… I CANNOT tell you how many times we wish we had a pooch along with us to “cover” our trail LOL… Congrats on the new addition! Look forward to having you along for the ride 🙂
