Blogging From A to Z — ‘Hugs’

April 9, 2013

Definition: To embrace.

This post speaks to my softer side. I love hugs. Period.

I think this world would be a lot less hellish if we hugged each other more. Any kid can tell you that. I totally get the personal space need and creepy people hugging you thing, there are ways around those issues that don’t require the physical contact but produce pretty much the same result.

I guess really its not so much the actual act of hugging that I think the world needs more of but rather than deep basic connection with another human being that is lacking to many places in the world. Its a cold place without it.

Me on the other hand am lucky I get as many hugs as I can handle from my kids and better half and would be lost without them

*hugs* to you! Have a wonderful day!

Just visiting from A2Z. A hug from one of my kids can put a lot of things right. Completely get your post!

I love it when my kids hug me for no reason. Which is not often enough!

I agree. I could use one right now. But sadly they are at school and I am at work 🙂 I will have to wait for a few more hours 🙂 *hugs*

Great topic choice. I’m notorious for hugging. In fact, my license plate reads HUGNLIF, which my son-in-law calls “kind of spiritual.” Friends know, and newcomers soon learn, no one escapes the hug. We all need the human touch, and a good hug is just perfect. Thank you.

For sure. I am blessed to have loving hugging children and a husband who completely gets snuggle time and my need for it daily. Nothing better in the world 🙂

I hear people need about a dozen hugs a day to stay healthy. Not sure if that is scientific, or guess work, but it is an interesting thought.

Totally agree. In fact I went to a seminar once that had people stand and hug each other. It was an interesting exercise of those that weren’t comfortable with it and those that were totally comfortable. And how long to hold the hug? When you hug are you the first to pull away. DD, hubby and I talk often about what a huggy family we are. To us, it’s normal and so we’re always surprised at people who don’t. Nice topic

My dad was a great hugger; I miss him…

My teenage son told me I didn’t hug him very much anymore, why was that? Not having any brothers, I am new to this teenage boy thing and wrongly thought he would want less Mothering hugs as he grew. Now I hug him whenever I get the urge, even in front of his friends, and I’m not kidding, he loves it. It’s a blessing I never expected!

I am not hugger, I Know awful but I do agree with you on the fact that we need more human interaction and I do love a hug from those I get close too 🙂

I am crazy about hugs too! You know, among the 30-odd blogs I visited yesterday, I was surprised not to see H for Hugs as it seemed like the most obvious thing for me!. I am happy now 😀
